It is approximately 77 kilometres (48 miles) long, and less than 8 kilometres (5.0 miles) across at its widest point. Highest point is 1,011 feet.
As a native, I can honestly say that is a paradise and a very quiet and safe place to visit and enjoy. We quote a phrase from Amanda Wilkins about “Roatan Safety” “I can say with absolute honesty that I looked over my shoulder far more often walking around Washington, DC, than I do around here. Having lived in wildly different settings around the world, I can say I feel safe living in Roatan.”
