Thanks to permitting requirements and the fact that everyone needs to be accompanied by a licensed guide in groups no larger than 8. I strongly recommend booking activities in Belize online in advance rather than waiting to arrive in Belize to book, as hotels will often overprice them so they can make a commission — not to mention, with sites with limited daily availability like the ATM cave, there may not be space for you if you book when you arrive.
